Nature study paths — Routes — Geographical location

The Nature Study Pathways are one of the most important open-air and forest recreation infrastructure in Cyprus. The Department of Forestry has so far (2014) developed a wide network of pathways within state forests (consisting of 74 paths with a total length of 353.9 km), which offer opportunities for direct contact and familiarity with the Cypriot nature, while at the same time serving environmental education and information and physical exercise. At the same time, the Department of Forestry, as the authority responsible for planning and promoting the creation of paths, works with the Cyprus Tourism Organisation, local authorities and provincial administrations to create paths outside state forests.
