AVICENNA (IBN SINA) AND HIS SCIENTIFIC CONTRIBUTIONS TO MEDICINE AND WORLD CIVILIZATION

This article examines the life and scientific legacy of Abu Ali Ibn Sina (Avicenna), one of the greatest scholars of the Islamic Golden Age. Special attention is given to his major medical work The Canon of Medicine, which played a significant role in the development of clinical diagnostics, pharmacology, and medical theory. The study highlights Avicenna’s contributions to anatomy, surgery, physiology, and psychology. Furthermore, the article analyzes the impact of his works on European medicine during the Middle Ages and the Renaissance. Avicenna’s scientific methodology, based on observation and logical reasoning, remains relevant in modern medical practice.
