Amplicon sequence analysis revealing microbial diversity in one of the seven world alkaline lakes: wadi natrun Egypt

The study presents the first 16S rRNA genes, high-throughput sequencing and bioinformatics analyses of the prokaryotic diversity and structure in the soil and water samples of the El-Hamara lake. Soil samples were collected from three depths at three locations away from the lake shores by two, 30, and 70 meters. Single water sample was collected from five meters distance inside the water in three replicates.A total of 5266 OTUs were obtained. The community of water comprised of 32 and six bacterial archaeal phyla.
