Temporary emissions licences (TEL)

A temporary emissions licence (TEL) temporarily allows the release of a contaminant into the environment, in response to an unforeseen event such as a flood or bushfire.\r\n\r\nThe [public register](https://www.qld.gov.au/environment/pollution/licences-permits/public-register) includes TELs associated with environmental authorities or transitional environmental programs, as required under section 540(1) of the Environmental Protection Act 1994.\r\n\r\nFor further information relating to TELs, please refer to [temporary emissions licences](https://www.business.qld.gov.au/running-business/environment/licences-permits/complying/temporary-emissions) on the Business Queensland website.
