Impact level of inflation on households in Japan 2023

The majority of Japanese households were impacted by price inflation, as revealed in a survey conducted by Rakuten Insight in March 2023. The largest share of respondents, around 63 percent, stated that they needed to be cautious of their expenses, whereas another six percent were unable to cope with the impact of the current price increases.
