Unpacking Youth Active Citizenship: A Person-Centred Analysis Across Educational Pathways in Spain

The present research aimed to analyse active citizenship (AC) in Spanish youth, with the main purpose of identifying participation patterns and examining the influence of educational trajectory and sociodemographic factors. To this end, three studies are presented. Study 1 focuses on 1,101 incoming undergraduates (DATABASE_STARTERS). Study 2 involves 3,323 university students who had completed at least their first academic year (DATABASE_UNIVERSITY). Study 3 analyses 527 non-university youth (DATABASE_NON_UNIVERSITY). In all cases, an online questionnaire was used to assess different forms of social and political participation (electoral, organisational, community, and non-conventional actions), together with sociodemographic variables such as gender, political ideology, parental education, and field of study.
