IBD gut microbiome

Fecal microbiota transplantation (FMT) has a reported efficacy of about 50% for ulcerative colitis (UC), but its effectiveness in Crohn's disease (CD) varies widely. Identifying inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) patients likely to respond to FMT is critical for optimizing clinical outcomes. In this longitudinal study, we monitored 96 IBD patients undergoing at least two FMT cycles over 52 weeks. Comprehensive microbiome analyses were performed to characterize microbial changes and their association with treatment response. These insights enhance our understanding of FMT's therapeutic potential and inform personalized treatment strategies for IBD.
