资源简介:
Using new continuum and molecular line data from the ALMA Three-millimeter Observations of Massive Star-forming Regions (ATOMS) survey and archival VLA, 4.86 GHz data, we present direct observational evidence of hierarchical triggering relating three epochs of massive star formation in G24.47+0.49. This HII region, likely powered by an O8.5 - O8V massive star, displays an inner shell that is bright in radio and 3 mm continuum emission. The swept-up ionized shell shows evidence of secondary collapse, where a burst of massive star formation is observed. From the VLA and ATOMS data, we identify ultra compact, and compact HII regions in this inner shell. ATOMS spectral line observations reveal an outer concentric molecular gas envelope expanding at a velocity of ∼ 9 kms−1, harboring twelve potential massive star-forming molecular cores.
