Local Group L-band Survey (LGLBS)

The LGLBS dataset is an L-band survey project targeting Local Group galaxies, led by the National Radio Astronomy Observatory (NRAO). It aims to conduct high-resolution observations of six galaxies using the Karl G. Jansky Very Large Array (VLA) to acquire the highest-quality images in the 21-cm band and 1–2 GHz radio continuum. This dataset is designed to address open questions regarding atomic gas, star formation, cosmic rays, and stellar feedback, and will provide a suite of legacy data products. The core goals of LGLBS are to reveal sharp views of atomic gas and radio continuum emission, thereby advancing understanding of several important but understudied aspects of matter cycling within galaxies. Additionally, the project intends to deliver widely useful public data products for these well-studied nearby galaxies.
