Hence it has been shown that Actinobacteria are contributing to the carbon cycle in their habitat. Moreover and as mentioned above, these bacteria are most likely involved in the breakdown of the most recalcitrant of plant biomass. Identification and understanding of these enzymes may in fact facilitate the commercial biomass degradation for ethanol production.
