Prostate microbiome in cancer and inflammation

Multiple clinical studies have validated that viable bacteria are present in areas previously thought to be sterile, such as the urinary tract and the prostate specifically. In the current study, we evaluated the prostate microbiome through amplicon sequencing of the 16S rRNA gene to determine if there were cancer or inflammation associated microbiome signatures.
