资源简介:
These files are photographs show to dorsal forewings of butterflies of the species Heteropsis iboina following surgical grafting experiments on developing pupae. The methodology is described in detail in the accompanying paper. The names of the folders and files contains the code ‘dII’, ‘dIII’, ‘dIV’, ‘pII’ and ‘pIII’ as a guide to where on the wings the grafting surgeries were done. ‘p’ means ‘proximal’ and ‘d’ means ‘distal’. ‘II’, ’III’ and ‘IV’ is a positional descriptor to wing cells (please refer to text in paper). The file names contain a further ID number made up of capital letters or numbers to enable identification of individual specimens. Finally there is an additional ‘x’ behind some file names in the folders called ‘dII’ and ‘pII’, this is signifying wings treated to a further experimental attempt to cauterise the normal anterior eyespot to enable a cleaner visualisation of the grafted eyespots. This cautery work was largely unsuccessful as the focus of the eyespot was hard to locate, but explains the sometimes missing eyespots in files labelled with ‘x’.
