资源简介:
"The Purple Top Complex of Potato (PMP) is a serious phytosanitary problem affecting potato production in Ecuador, Peru, and Colombia. It is associated with the potato psyllid (Bactericera cockerelli), a polyphagous insect that causes direct damage to plants by releasing toxins and acts as a vector for phytoplasmas (Candidatus Phytoplasma aurantifolia, among others) and the bacterium Candidatus Liberibacter solanacearum (CLso), responsible for ""zebra chip."" CLso is a gram-negative bacterium restricted to the phloem, transmitted by psyllids such as B. cockerelli. In the Americas, Lso A and Lso B haplotypes affect solanaceous crops such as potatoes, tomatoes, and other species, while in Europe and Africa, other haplotypes impact apiaceous plants. Symptoms include chlorosis, stem deformities, aerial tuber formation, and internal tuber discoloration, with control strategies primarily based on insecticide application targeting the vector. In Ecuador, the Lso A haplotype has been identified in potato crops and other solanaceous plants. In Peru, the rapid expansion of B. cockerelli from Piura southward underscores the need to understand its behavior and temperature dependency to develop CLso transmission models. This study aims to establish CLso-free colonies to investigate control strategies."
