资源简介:
These registers contain a summary record of applications to purchase land in virtue of intended improvements in the Land District of Hillston, kept by the Hillston Crown Land Agent's Office and later by the Hillston Lands Office. This tenure was introduced in the Lands Acts Amendment Act of 1875 (39 Vic. Improvements were "any work or erection of a fixed character and such as would render more beneficial the occupation and use of the land, and which shall have been constructed, erected, placed, made or maintained at the cost of the person applying to purchase the land in respect of any such improvements."These registers record information such as the registration number, the number of any previous applications, the date of those applications, the date of receipt of application, the name and address of applicant, the amount of deposit, the value and description in detail of improvements, the area in acres, a description in detail of land applied for, the authority under which land is held, i.e., pastoral or other lease, or Miner's Right or Business License, the name of the Run or Gold Field, particulars of lease, or number, date and place of issue of Miner's Right or Business License, date of despatch of application to Head Office, any action taken, and any further remarks.
