Wild type M. oryzae isolate P1.2 was grown in liquid medium in absence (MM) or presence of 1 mM methionine (MM + Met) for 8 days. The Δmet6 mutants (M15.1, M22.1 and M23.1) were grown in liquid MM supplemented with 1 mM methionine (MM + Met) for 8 days. Cys (cysteine), CTT (cystathionine) and Hcys (homocysteine) were quantified by HLPC as described in Materials and Methods. Data were expressed in nmoles.mg-1 dry weight and represent the mean (± standard deviation) of two technical replicates derived from three biological replicates.**Fold change (Δmet6 / P1.2 MM + Met) was calculated using average value of the three mutant lines over wild type.°Differences are significant according to a t-test (5%).Effects of exogenous methionine on sulfur amino acids and glutathione levels in M. oryzae Δmet6 mutants and wild type.
