资源简介:
Drinking Water Protection Areas (DWPAs) are delineated areas around public water system sources created to meet the requirements of the Safe Drinking Water Act. This feature service is publicly available to promote the protection of public drinking water sources and also allows DEC staff to add the data to ArcGIS Pro for local desktop analysis and export. Local governments and state agencies are encouraged to use this data when reviewing permits for activities that may affect a public drinking water source. DWPAs can also be used to help determine sampling and monitoring requirements for public water systems. The data is updated daily. Note that any data downloaded or exported locally is only current as of the date and time of download; regular exports are recommended to ensure you are working with the most current version. Zone Definitions DWPAs are divided into Zones A, B, C, E, F, and G. Zone definitions vary depending on the source type: groundwater, surface water, or groundwater under the direct influence (GWUDI) of surface water. Note: Zone D (10-year Time of Travel) has been discontinued. Zone A — Groundwater: equivalent to several months' Time of Travel. Surface water: 1,000-foot buffer. Zone B — Groundwater: equivalent to 2-year Time of Travel. Surface water: 1-mile buffer. Zone C — Surface water: equivalent to the immediate watershed. Zone E — GWUDI: 1,000-foot buffer of the nearest surface water body. Zone F — GWUDI: 1-mile buffer of the nearest surface water body. Zone G — GWUDI: watershed contributing to the nearest surface water body. Provisional Protection Areas — A 1,000-foot buffer around a regulated well or intake that is new or has not yet received a Source Water Assessment delineation. For further information, visit the Source Water Assessment resource page. Users are also encouraged to use this service alongside the Alaska DEC Drinking Water Protection Areas Web Map.
