Neurocognitive Disorders and Dementia in Latin America and Ibero-America (2000-2025): Prevalence, Risk Factors and Projections

Database on neurocognitive disorders and dementia (including Alzheimer's Disease) in Latin America and Ibero-America for the period 2000-2025. Includes prevalence and incidence by country and age group, risk factors (hypertension, diabetes, sedentary lifestyle), access to diagnosis, economic cost and projections to 2050. Regional dementia prevalence: 6-6.5 cases per 100 adults aged ≥60 years; approximately 410,938 new cases per year in the LAC region. Data by country: Brazil 6-8%, Argentina/Chile 6-9%, Mexico 3.5-10%, Colombia 0.07% (2009) to 0.29% (2018) in adults ≥60 years. Alzheimer's disease accounts for 60-80% of all dementia cases.
