NoVA Digital Divide: Households Without Internet and the Distance to a Public Library (Keystone GIS Day 129)

In 2020-24, 3.8 percent of Northern Virginia households (35,715 of 936,878) had no internet subscription, down from 4.7 percent in 2017-21. This atlas combines four ACS 5-year vintages of internet subscription status for all 579 tracts with IMLS public library outlets and 2020 population-weighted tract centroids, measuring straight-line distance to the nearest library, flagging priority tracts and anomalous trajectories, and adding a four-step temporal map.Produced by the Keystone GIS Northern Virginia Autonomous GIS Research Program.
