Narration for a film on sea exploration, 1952-1953. The narrator may be Kenneth Emery or John Garth. The sound track was probably to be used for the documentary film “New frontiers”. The topics covered include microscopic foraminifera, collecting sea bottom samples, scuba diving, giant kelp beds harboring abalone and lobster, the use of the benthograph launched from the Velero IV off Catalina Island to provide underwater photography. Marine animals and plants mentioned include: single-celled calcareous forminifera, giant kelp, sea lions, fish, abalone, lobster, sand shark, bat rays, medusa jelly fish, sea urchins, worms, and shellfish. “Garth/Emory [sic]” – container. ?
