Captain Frank Robinson, head of San Pedro's Enforcement Division, U.S. Customs, declares 7 packages of raw opium seized from ship in Long Beach to be largest made in 17 years. Left to right: Patrolman Lawrence H. Kohl, demonstrates how packages were concealed in parts of rubber inner tubing, while Patrolman Charles O. Jones watches Captain Frank Robinson tear open corner of packages to reveal black, gooey, opium. Seizure was valued at $21,000 on open American marke. Chinese who tried to smuggle it past the two alert patrolmen shown in picture paid $350 for it in Singapore. They were crew members of Isbrandtsen Line's freighter Flying Arrow".
