Raw Data_Self-Compassion, Loneliness, Self-Esteem, and Social Anxiety in Chinese Adolescents

The dataset, "Raw Data_Self-Compassion, Loneliness, Self-Esteem, and Social Anxiety in Chinese Adolescents", was collected from five middle schools in China between March and April 2025 using the Wenjuanxing platform (https://www.wjx.cn/). A randomized selection technique was applied based on complete class rosters, and participants were chosen according to preset proportions. All respondents provided informed consent, and for those under 16, parental or guardian consent was obtained in line with ethical standards. Of the 870 questionnaires distributed, 869 valid responses were retained after removing invalid cases due to duplicate IPs, highly similar responses, abnormal completion times, or missing key information. The dataset includes responses to standardized instruments measuring self-compassion, self-esteem, loneliness, and social anxiety, supporting analysis of the dual mediation model tested in the study.
