Allogeneic transplant of cells/tissue/organ from a genetically dissimilar donor can lead to severe complications that are largely immune-mediated. We used gene expression data from microarrays to understand how allo-stimulation provided by irradiated peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMC) (stimulators) differentially affect the functionality of CD19+ B cells of responder PBMC across different responder-stimulator donor pairs. Untouched CD19+ B cells were enriched from 6 mixed lymphocyte cultures (day 3) using depletion of magnetically labelled non-B cells. RNA isolated from cells were hybridized on Affymetrix microarrays.
