Pollen samples were collected at three early historic Navaho sites
approximately fifteen miles north of Farmington, New Mexico in conjunction
with archaeological mitigation. Pollen analysis was oriented toward a
definition of subsistence activities that involved the use of plants at these
three sites. With the exception of control samples from the present ground
surface, all samples in this study represent hearths or roasting pits. A
total of 25 pollen samples was collected from these three sites from features
representing Archaic and early Navajo occupations.
