资源简介:
Code used in the creation of output datasets (ASO_dataset_creation_anon.R) and data analysis (ASO_data_analysis_anon.R) in "Revealing the Widespread Bias of Extinction Risk in Antarctica and the Southern Ocean":ASO_dataset_creation.R: Code used in the creation of output datasets (below)ASO_data_analysis.R: Code used in the data analysis of output datasetsOutput datasets:Occurrence_dataset.csv: Compilation of 6,819,007 geo-referenced species-level occurrence records for extant marine, terrestrial, and inland-water species within the Antarctic and Southern Ocean (ASO) region, extracted from four open-access databases. The delineation of the Antarctic and Southern Ocean region follows that adopted in the Marine Ecosystem Assessment for the Southern Ocean (MEASO).Records were cleaned for duplicates, potential coordinate inaccuracies, and taxonomically harmonized using Global Biodiversity Information Facility (GBIF) Backbone Taxonomy. Note this file is currently too large to upload.ASO_species_list.csv: Taxonomically harmonised list of ASO species (20,764 species) sourced from the Occurrence Dataset, combined with existing species checklists.Extinction_risk_dataset.csv: List of ASO species extinction risk assessments for species listed within the ASO_species_list.csv (5,403 assessments for 2,806 species) compiled from four publicly available databases and literature searches. Assessments include those available for species at both the species-level (global extinction risk assessment) and the population-level (sub-global to national scale assessments).ASO_assessments_prioritised.csv: List of ASO species extinction_risk_dataset which have been prioritised to one extinction risk assessment per species where multiple assessments were present. For more information please see (XX Reference to be inserted XX). Detailed methods may be found in Appendix S1.AcknowledgementsWe would like to thank Dr. Samuel G. Beale for his useful comments on the draft manuscript, Caitlin A. Selfe for her help with QGIS, and Dr. David A. Clarke for his coding assistance.
