Insect Sampling

A dataset looking at a sample of the types of insects found at Danby grasslands and woodlot, on campus at York University. Weather conditions out on the fields was cold and partially cloudy thus, there may be less insects than expected.Researchers first randomly placed ten quadrats in the grasslands. At each quadrat, researchers disturbed the area by flattening grass or turning over dirt to actively find insects for approximately one minute, then the type and number of insects seen, according to four pairs of eyes was recorded. This process was then repeated in the woodlands where there was much less vegetation in comparison to the grasslands thus, less insects were seen.
