The CapContact dataset comprises high-resolution contact area data collected from capacitive touch screens, including capacitive images and actual contact masks. The dataset consists of 10 participants and 3 sessions, with data provided in PNG format and as numpy arrays. Capacitive images were captured by the Microchip ATMXT2954T2 digitizer at 16-bit precision, with a resolution of 72 pixels by 41 pixels, covering an area of 345 mm by 195 mm. Contact masks were captured using a frustrated total internal reflection (FTIR) setup, with a resolution of 576 pixels by 328 pixels, achieving an 8x super-resolution.
