Attempting to identify candidate genes involved in the divergence of nectar volume and nectar sugar sugar concentration between two morning glory species, Ipomoea lacunosa and Ipomoea cordatotriloba. We used bulk-segregant RNA sequencing on immature and mature nectaries to describe differentially expressed genes. We also used whole genome sequences from several individuals of Ipomoea lacunosa and Ipomoea cordatotriloba to find signatures of fixed allele frequency differences and no admixture between the two species.
