Snow Depth, Snow Water Equivalent, and Basal Ice Thickness Measurements, Chamberlindalen and Dunderdalen, Svalbard, 2024

This dataset contains measurements of snow depth, snow water equivalent (SWE), and basal ice thickness collected in the Chamberlindalen and Dunderdalen valleys, Wedel Jarlsberg Land, Svalbard. Data were gathered on 2 April 2024 as part of the SIOS SnowInOpt project: SIOS Infrastructure Optimisation of the Cal/Val Process for Snow Research. Measurement Details: Snow Depth: Measured using a snow probe, recorded in centimeters (cm). Snow Water Equivalent (SWE): Measured using an IG PAS snow tube, recorded in millimeters (mm). Basal Ice Thickness: Ice formed on the tundra surface was drilled and measured using a snow probe, recorded in centimeters (cm).
