Phylogenomic and Macroevolutionary Evidence for an Explosive Radiation of a Plant Genus in the Miocene

We provide a time-scaled phylogeny of the genus Oreocharis (Gesneriaceae) using transcriptomic data and evaluate the impact of incomplete lineage sorting (ILS) and hybridization on phylogenetic reconstruction with rapid radiation. We then fit macroevolutionary models to explore the spatial and diversification dynamics and compare the diversification rates between lineages from different mountain systems. Finally, we apply quantitative statistical models to investigate the effect of past climate changes on the diversification of Oreocharis.
