The invention relates to a safety brake device (30) for braking a saw blade (22) of a hand-held circular saw (10)， comprising a first brake element (32)， said first brake element (32) being rotationally fixed to a machining shaft (20) of a hand-held circular saw (10)， and a second brake element (34)， said second brake element (34) being rotationally fixed to a housing (12) of the hand-held circular saw (10). An actuator element (60) triggers the safety brake device (30) as soon as the proximity of human skin or a contact between the saw blade (22) and the human hand is detected.
