Phyllosphere microbial communities of forest swamp plants in an agricultural landscape

Microorganisms colonizing the leaf and stem surfaces of plants contribute to the health and growth of their hosts. The composition of the microbial community in the phyllosphere is determined by its landscape, most notably by the specific identity of its host, which constitutes its habitat. This research aims at better understanding how the composition of an agricultural landscape around a forest swamp impacts the phyllosphere microbial composition of plants within the swamp. Answering this question will help us disentangling the contribution of various landscape elements in the composition of phyllosphere microbial communities.
