Replication Package for Rule-Detected Test Smells and Maintenance Activity in Python Projects: A Static Analysis and Git-History Study

This replication package supports the manuscript “Rule-Detected Test Smells and Maintenance Activity in Python Projects: A Static Analysis and Git-History Study.” It contains the frozen file-level datasets, repository-selection and revision provenance, static-analysis and Git-history mining scripts, statistical outputs, audit records, six manuscript figures, 160 completed primary manual-validation decisions, and an independently reviewed 60-task subsample. The main dataset comprises 1,595 test files from 31 open-source Python repositories, including 17,804 detected test functions and 10,523 rule-detected test-smell instances. A stable-path temporal dataset contains 900 files from 25 repositories. Raw repository clones and third-party source excerpts are not redistributed; fixed revisions, source locations, and cryptographic hashes are provided for local reconstruction under the applicable upstream licenses. The validation sample is a credibility check of the operational rules and is not an unbiased estimate of detector precision or recall.
