The alignment and phylogeny of <i>Multifurca rugulosospora</i> sp. nov. (Russulaceae), a new species and the first record of the genus from Vietnam

A new species, Multifurca rugulosospora sp. nov. (Russulaceae), is described from Pinus kesiya forests in Lam Dong Province, southern Vietnam. The species is macroscopically similar to M. pseudofurcata and M. orientalis. However, it is distinguished by smaller basidiospores with low and clearly rugulose ornamentation. Phylogenetic analyses based on combined ITS, LSU and RPB2 sequences recover the species as a well-supported, independent lineage within Multifurca.
