Genome sequencing and assembly at the chromosome-level of Hystrix brachyura provides insight into longevity and immune adaptations

Hystrix brachyura is a long-lived rodent. It can carry a variety of viruses, but rarely gets sick, making it an interesting model for studying the drivers of the evolution of lifespan differences, the immune system, and disease resistance. Here, we sequenced and de novo assembled the first chromosome-level reference genome of Hystrix brachyura.
