High-fat diet (HFD) is known to promote metabolic stress and cardiac dysfunction. To examine genotype-dependent cardiac transcriptional responses, we performed RNA sequencing of hearts from wild-type (WT) and TKO mice fed either normal chow (NC) or a high-fat diet. RNA-seq analysis revealed significantly increased Parkin (Prkn) mRNA expression in TKO hearts compared with WT hearts under HFD conditions. Overall design: Wild-type (WT) and TKO mice were maintained on either normal chow (NC) or high-fat diet (HFD). Hearts were collected at a defined time point, and total RNA was isolated for bulk RNA sequencing.
