dimr_10.03.25.Rdata - file contains the original variable names from the merged databases (reqired package in R is haven) and the new merged variables.

IMP_ATT – attendance (values form 0 to 1 with defined data gaps)

IMP_WPR – prayer (values form 0 to 1 with defined data gaps)

IMP_SDR – self declared religiosity (values form 0 to 1 with defined data gaps)

blg - religious affiliation - detailed list combained from all project

blgen - religious affiliation (Christianity, Islam, Judaism, Eastern Religions, Other, No religion/ None with missing values defined: Don’t know, No Answer/ Refused, Not applicable)

blgen_YN - 0 - “No Religion”, 1 - “Belong to Religion”

VOASrsf – categorical variable with values: religious, fuzzy and secular

GENDER – gender of the respondent with values: ‘Male’, ‘Female’

cc_all – countries from the combined 3 projects (e.g. Germany West and East, Great Britain Great Britain and/or United Kingdom, Northern Ireland…)

cc - country names standardized (e.g. West and East Germany as Germany…)

pm - name of the project (ESS, ISSP, IVS)

yearbirth - year of birth of the respondent

cohort10 - cohort membership according to the rule: x> 1875 & x<=1884 = cohort 1880

WaveYear - the average of the dates in which the collection of data for the survey lasted, if data was collected from 2008 to 2010 then we have the result 2009

age_comb – the age of the respondent at the time the survey was collected
