Mice with the endogenous Choline acetyltransferase (ChAT) allele flanked by LoxP sites, were crossed to mice expressing the Cre recombinase under the control of the distal LCK promoter. Progeny of this cross were either WT (LCK.Cre- ChATf/f) or had conditional ablation of ChAT in T-cells after T-cell development (cKO- (LCK.Cre+ ChATf/f)). Mice were then given either control (LB broth) or 10E8 CFU of C. rodentium by orogastric gavagae. Mice were euthanized on day 10 post infection by CO2 to effect followed by cervical dislocation. Tissues were taken to determine inflammation and amount of bacteria, and feces to determine the composition of the microbiota.
