资源简介:
The Kendal Plantation, site 32BW788, Brunswick County, North Carolina, contains architectural features and artifacts associated with an eighteenth century historic settlement. Remaining architectural components include brick scatter and piles, as well as evidence of two chimneys, a cistern, piers, and foundations. Pedestrian survey collected ceramics likely used by homeowners and slaves, with mean dates ranging from 1720–1866 (Michael Trinkley,
personal communication April, 2, 2015). Pollen and phytolith analyses of samples collected from the colonial house and kitchen, the root cellar, and from the midden and trash areas aim to inform plant food refuse and cooking activities.
