# Knowledge-Type-Sensitive Video Analytics Dataset ## TitleAn Examination of Video Analytics in the Context of Knowledge Types: Relationships with Self-Regulation Skills and Academic Performance ## DescriptionThis dataset supports the manuscript examining undergraduate students' video interaction behaviours across conceptual, procedural, and strategic knowledge segments in a video-based learning environment. The dataset includes cleaned and anonymized student-video event logs, video segment coding by knowledge type, scored self-regulation scale data, scored academic performance data, and an analysis reproduction workbook containing the APA-style tables reported in the manuscript. The final analysis sample includes 27 undergraduate students. The cleaned video log contains 4303 student-video interaction records from three educational videos. Of these, 3908 events were matched to knowledge-type-coded video segments using a ±0.5-second segment-boundary tolerance; 395 events fell outside coded segments. Academic performance was measured with a 14-item achievement test coded as conceptual, procedural, and strategic knowledge items. Self-regulation was assessed using a 36-item scale, with one attention-check item excluded and M19 and M21 reverse-coded. ## Files- 01_clean_video_events_anonymized.xlsx: Cleaned anonymized event-level student-video interaction data. Student names were removed and pseudonymous Participant_ID values are used.- 02_video_segment_coding.xlsx: Segment-level coding of the three educational videos by knowledge type. Segment times are provided in seconds.- 03_self_regulation_scored.xlsx: Scored self-regulation scale data used in the analyses.- 04_achievement_test_scored.xlsx: Scored 14-item achievement test data and item knowledge-type key. ## AnonymizationDirect student names were removed from the event log. Participant identifiers were replaced with pseudonymous IDs that are consistent across all files. The original ID mapping is not included. ## Keywordsvideo analytics; learning analytics; self-regulated learning; knowledge types; video-based learning; academic performance; forward seeking; backward seeking ## LicenseCC BY 4.0, unless institutional or ethics-committee requirements specify a more restrictive license.
