Urban Development Zones
An area in the Cape Town CBD, which extends through Woodstock, Salt River, Observatory and Mowbray including the western sections of Voortrekker and Klipfontein Roads, as well as a portion of the Bellville CBD was demarcated. In 2013 extensions of the delineation of the City’s Urban Development Zones (UDZ) was made from Buitengracht Street in the Cape Town CBD, including Woodstock, Salt River, Observatory, Mowbray, Greater Athlone & Gatesville. A South African Revenue Services (SARS)/ City initiative introduced in 2003, premised on tax incentives within specific city precincts linked to urban renewal and reinvestment. The aim of the UDZ is to stimulate private sector-led residential and commercial development in inner-city areas with developed public transport facilities by means of a tax incentive administered by SARS. All spatial layers are served live from internal systems, an item's "Last Updated" or "Publish Date" refers to the Metadata only.
