资源简介:
Five shallow (~20-m) ice cores were collected in November/December 1999 near South Pole. All cores were collected within 20 km of the Pole and were located to sample high, moderate, and low snow accumulation regimes based on earlier work by Mosley-Thompson et al. The cores were analyzed using a continuous melter system for hydrogen peroxide, nitrate, liquid conductivity, and, for some core sections, formaldehyde. Mean snow accumulation rates were confirmed using beta radioactivity horizons.
