POU3F1 binds the SOX2 gene

POU3F1 (OCT6) binds the N2 enhancer located upstream of the SOX2 coding region (inferred from mouse homologs). Before gastrulation, POU5F1 (OCT4) binds the N2 enhancer and SOX2 is expressed throughout the epiblast. POU3F1 replaces POU5F1 at the N2 enhancer in anterior ectoderm and maintains expression in anterior neural plate (inferred from mouse homologs).

POU3F1（OCT6）结合位于SOX2编码区上游的N2增强子（据小鼠同源基因推断）。在胚层形成之前，POU5F1（OCT4）结合N2增强子，且SOX2在整个上胚层中得到表达。在胚胎前外胚层中，POU3F1取代POU5F1结合N2增强子，并在前神经板中维持表达（据小鼠同源基因推断）。
