To evaluate patterns of fungal diversity in terrestrial water, fungal DNA assemblages in the ecosystems are explored by DNA metabarcoding. Water samples are collected along spatial and tempoal gradients in various terrestrial ecosystems, such as forests, in any climatic region and fingal DNA assemblages associated with the substrates are detected with a high throughput sequencer.
