This dataset contains three-dimensional (3D) point cloud data of lime fruits stored in Polygon File Format (PLY). The dataset was developed to support research on the physical characterization, dimensional measurement, shape analysis, and quality assessment of lime fruits using 3D imaging and point cloud processing techniques. Each PLY file represents the three-dimensional surface geometry of an individual lime fruit. The 3D data can be used to extract physical characteristics such as fruit dimensions, shape, surface geometry, and other morphological features relevant to agricultural quality assessment and fruit grading. The dataset is intended for research in agricultural engineering, computer vision, 3D point cloud processing, precision agriculture, automated fruit measurement, and machine learning. It can also support the development and evaluation of algorithms for non-destructive measurement and automated classification of agricultural products. The dataset may be used to investigate relationships between 3D-derived physical characteristics and conventional measurements or agricultural grading criteria. Where applicable, extracted characteristics can be compared with relevant agricultural standards for lime fruit quality assessment.
