A 150-d experiment was conducted to investigate the production efficiency and immune response of the fish, inorganic nitrogen dynamic and bacteria community in indoor bioflocs technology (BFT) systems of raising genetically improved farmed tilapia (GIFT) under 0‰ (S-0), 10‰ (S-10), and 20‰ salinities (S-20) . No water changed during the experimental period. The start-up periods were 50, 60 and 80 days for S-0, S-10 and S-20 groups. At steady state, the total ammonium nitrogen and nitrite nitrogen were lower than 3.0 mg L and 0.34 mg/L and no nitrate-nitrogen accumulated. The fish survival rate was above 95% for all the groups. The final stocking density of S-10 (35.83±1.08 kg/m3) was significantly higher than S-0 (34.79±1.33 kg/m3 ) and S-20 (32.6±1.04 kg/m3). The feed conversion ratio for S-20 was 1.46, higher than that of S-0 (1.40) and S-10 (1.39). There was no significant difference in the crude protein (CP) content of the back muscles of the fish among the three groups. No significant difference in blood parameters, except for aspartate aminotransferase and alkaline phosphatase, among the three groups. Proteobacteria, Bacteroidetes, Fusobacteria were the top three in the phylum level for the three groups. The significant difference in the genus level was observed among the three groups. Genus Cetobacterium was the domain bacteria for the three groups.
