Assessment of the performance of Severe Acute Malnutrition treatment of children aged 6-59 months in Amhara, Oromia and Somali regions of Ethiopia uses a mixed-methods approach, primarily a retrospective cohort design, to analyze secondary data from 2,248 children aged 0-69 months. Key outcomes include cure rate, relapse rate, and anthropometric changes, while it also investigates the link between these outcomes and preventative nutrition interventions. Additionally, the study conducted a follow-up home visit for 224 of the children to understand post-discharge outcomes and service delivery challenges.
