Detecting of SARS-CoV-2 in animals improves our understanding of potential intermediate hosts and reservoirs. Therefore, two nasal swabs were taken from domestic cats in Canada, marking the earliest confirmed cases of SARS-CoV-2 infection in felines in the country. The genetic sequencing of these samples achieved over 99% coverage of the SARS-CoV-2 genome.
