Here we reported a Bifidobacterium pseudocatenulatum strain with high production of exopolysaccharides. The strain Bi-OTA128 (named LJF in sequencing file) was isolated from feces of a healthy 66-year-old woman, Beijing, China. The Gram staining is positive, and cell morphology conforms to the typical characteristics of bifidobacteria. The 16S rRNA sequence alignment showed a high identity with B. pseudocatenulatum. After cultured in de Man, Rogosa and Sharp medium with 0.05% (w/v) L-cysteine (MRSc) at 37C for 24 h, the bacterial culture was showing a ropy type.
