Code and data for: Evidence for a Sharp‑Interface Regime in Tropical Cyclones

This repository contains the processed CloudSat-derived data and analysis code used to produce the results in the manuscript: “Evidence for a Sharp-Interface Regime in Tropical Cyclones: An Optimal Transport Perspective” (submitted to Geophysical Research Letters). The dataset includes derived eyewall vertical reflectivity profile metrics extracted from 44 CloudSat 2B-GEOPROF R05 tropical cyclone granule overpasses (2006–2020). All profiles were normalized prior to analysis. The accompanying Jupyter notebook (.ipynb) implements the full 1-Wasserstein optimal transport framework used in the study and reproduces all figures and statistical results reported in the manuscript. Raw CloudSat data are publicly available via the NASA CloudSat Data Processing Center and NASA Earthdata portals. This repository contains only processed data products and analysis code required for result reproducibility.
