Bencaojing jizhu 本草經集注 in Three Layers

This repository includes the following files: A digitally tagged edition of Bencaojing jizhu 本草經集注 prepared in MARKUS as a html file. Initial tagging of this file by Zhang Duan 張端, final editing by Xu Duoduo 許多多, including character fidelity, tagging and geolocation editing. A full output file of all digital tags, stored in an .xlsx file. A summary data table (.xlsx) including all known place names where known; their GIS coordinates; the primary name of the associated drug; and the layer of the text. A docuxml file, which converts the MARKUS file into a Docusky database. Loaded into Docusky, this can be parsed according to multiple criteria in the text. ****Where Chinese characters in this edition were not directly available in UTF-8 encoding, substitute characters were used. These are described in Bencaojingjizhu_Shangzhijun_Checking.doc ****This file updates and supersedes the trial edition published in 2017 (see related publication). All markups have been thoroughly checked, confirmed, and edited, and are now reliable. We are therefore now releasing this authoritative edition as well as attaching all internal data for analysis.
